I Got A Truck helped Devin Dawson find his story - Song Of The Day

I Got A Truck is the latest from Californian singer-songwriter Devin Dawson. He broke out a few years ago with his platinum debut single All On Me. The success earned him a spot on a national tour with Tim McGraw, which resulted in many late-night conversations.

It was these late-night conversations with Tim McGraw which inspired Devin's latest run at the charts, I Got A Truck. It's an anthem for dream chasers everywhere, laden with that wide-open free sound that makes country so powerful.

I've Got A Truck is Devin's first moment in the spotlight as a performer in a little while after spending time writing. While he's written some incredible songs for other artists, including Blake Shelton's hit God's Country, he's glad to be writing for himself again.

"I'm fired up that I get the chance to be the one to help tell this story. Because when it's this real, honesty and true, the rest is easy. I found so much of myself in this story and in this song and I can't wait to hear how other people their story in it as well." Said Devin.

"As someone who writes songs every single day, I don't ever take any inspiration for granted. Sometimes you use tricks you've learned along the way to kick-start that inspiration and other times it just lands right in your lap. This song is the latter."
