More Katrina Burgoyne More Katrina Burgoyne

Raised in regional New South Wales, Katrina Burgoyne is following in the footsteps of Keith Urban and Morgan Evans; an Australian marching her way through the golden roads of Nashville to country music success. So far she's had three top 10 charting Australian country singles, two CMAA Golden Guitar Nominations and a Top 10 ARIA charting album. Her latest single 25 Cents In The Ashtray is her next step forward along that path.

We caught up with Katrina Burgoyne to find out what songs she's listening to for this week's Front Deck Boom Box.

Catherine Britt - I’m A Country Song

The opening of this song is so nostalgic and takes me back to Dixie Chicks Wide Open Spaces and 90’s country songs. I’ve always loved Catherine’s music from her Nashville records to her Americana roots records and this song fits somewhere between the magic of both sounds.

Melody Moko - Like Hank Would

This song is one of my favorites off Melody’s new record. I remember her being in the USA and coming home from spending time in Mobile Alabama (Hank Williams home town). She mentioned she wrote an amazing song called Like Hank Would. This song crowns Melody Moko as one hell of a songwriter.

The McClymonts - Free Fall

I love this song with all of my heart. As a lover of catchy melodies and ear worms this song is magic. The melody in the pre-chorus makes me wish I wrote it. The break down sparse chorus is so great. I’ve always loved what the girls do, but I think this current record is their best work yet. Every song is amazing.

Travis Collin - Wreck Me

I really think Travis is the best male vocalist in Australia right now. He always brings an up-tempo bop to every song which also makes him a great live performer to watch. Wreck Me is no exception, the musical hook is a jam.

Southbound - Drinks

Firstly what is not to love about a kick ass girl band. This is one of those songs that the only responsibility of the listener is to have a drink and a good time. This song definitely takes me back to a Broadway bar having the time of my life. I think it’s amazing when a song can put you somewhere.
