We caught up with Rising country singer-songwriter, Chelsea Berman to find out what songs she’s listening to for this week’s Front Deck Boom Box.

More Chelsea Berman More Chelsea Berman

Hailing from the Central Coast of New South Wales, rising country singer-songwriter, Chelsea Berman started performing at the age of 8. Since then, she has toured extensively and shared the stage with artists including Travis Collins, Jake Davey, Brad Cox, Amber Lawrence and Hurricane Fall.

She released her debut EP, Better Than Ever in 2018, which reached #4 on the iTunes Country Albums chart. The following year, Chelsea was a Toyota Star Maker finalist at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, won the Market the Music ‘Emerging Artist Scholarship’ and an elusive endorsement from Fashion label Racy & Lucky.

Her 2021 EP, Can You Just Not hit #1 on the iTunes Country Album chart and #5 on the iTunes All Genres chart, and features the title track as well as Your Call and Waste My Time, which peaked at #22 on the Countrytown Music Network Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. She recently released her latest single Tastes Like A Hangover. Co-written with Troy Kemp, the track was inspired by Chelsea’s own hangovers.

We caught up with Chelsea to find out what songs she’s listening to for this week’s Front Deck Boom Box.

Startin’ Something - The Wolfe Brothers and LOCASH

A summer anthem that I’ve had on repeat since it came out – if only the weather matched the summer vibes in this song! I’m loving the new direction The Wolfe Brothers are heading, and my playlist on Spotify is full of their new songs. I can’t wait to hear this one live at a music festival, it’s just one of those songs that you can put on anywhere, anytime and it will instantly make everyone want to party.

Leave Each Other Alone - Jess Moskaluke featuring Travis Collins

I’m loving collaborations at the moment, and this collab between Travis and Jess is incredible. It’s been one of my most listened to songs the past few months, and has also made me listen to more of Jess’ songs – which is great as I always love discovering new artists. Their voices are next-level and sound great together - two powerhouse voices combined make something pretty special!

High - Miley Cyrus

You know those songs that just make you want to scream and cry in your car while driving down the freeway?? This is one of those songs!!! Miley’s songs get better with time (her Bangerz album was definitely full of bangers), and I wish more people knew this song existed (songs like this don’t often make a ‘single’) - it hits you right in the feels. This is definitely a raw and honest side to Miley that I don’t think we’ve heard much of before, but I am here for it!

Sand In My Boots - Morgan Wallen

Morgan’s newest album is one of my favourites of all time, and my favourite song from the album changes weekly. This song however has continued to be one of my faves, and is one I also sing on tour as part of our ‘covers’ section! If you haven’t heard this song yet, you need to go ahead and listen to it right now. That perfect mix of country and heartbreak - this song makes me want to get on a plane and head to Tennessee (if only!)

Wild - Missy Lancaster

I love every single song that Missy releases, and this is no exception! This is another super catchy song that makes me want to dance up a storm (and I have been while in lockdown, just hoping my neighbours don’t hate me.) Can’t wait to hear some more new music from Missy, if this song is anything to go by then it’s going to be pretty amazing!
