We share five country collaborations we're currently obsessing over featuring Sam Hunt, Luke Combs, Jameson Rodgers, Old Dominion, Imogen Clark and more!

More Luke Combs More Luke Combs

There’s many collaboration singles that we’re loving at the moment from yesterday’s Song of the Day Getting Over Him by Lauren Alaina ft. Jon Pardi as well as the catchy smash hit Famous Friends from Chris Young and Kane Brown. Not to mention, Steady by Bryan Lanning with Brennley Brown, Kelsea Ballerini’s Half of my Hometown with Kenny Chesney and Wise Woman by Mallory Johnson and Twin Kennedy.

Other artists who have recently released collaboration singles we're loving at the moment include Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Felicity Urquhart, Keith Urban, Breland, Mickey Guyton, Camille Trail, Brad Butcher, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Carly Pearce, Andy Kenkow, Tyler Hubbard and Jason Lee amongst others.

There are plenty! – but we thought we’d call a few out that we haven’t yet featured that we think we should!

Cold Beer Calling My Name by Jameson Rodgers and Luke Combs

A talented songwriter, Jameson Rodger co-penned Platinum-selling hits for Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane, along with Camouflage Hat on Jason Aldean’s most recent album 9 and the title track of Luke Bryan’s latest release Born Here Live Here Die Here. Cold Beer Calling My Name featuring Luke Combs is the smash hit off Rodger’s recently released In It For The Money EP. The song was co-written by Rodgers, alongside Hunter Phelps, Brett Tyler, and Alysa Vanderheym, and follows his gold-certified, #1 single, Some Girls.

Rodgers tells CMT, “[Cold Beer Calling My Name is] a fun, easy song, and I thought it’d be cool to have someone on it, and at the time I was out with Luke Combs. I asked Luke if he’d like to sing on it. I know he’s a cold beer drinker like myself, and luckily it worked out.”

When Was It Over? by Sasha Sloan and Sam Hunt

Sam Hunt has teamed with indie pop singer-songwriter, Sasha Sloan on the emotional breakup ballad, When Was It Over? The duo has been writing together the last couple of years, but this the first time they have put their vocals together on a collaborative track. Sloan previously released the duet single Is It Just Me? with Charlie Puth. Hunt’s last single was Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s.

Co-written with Shane McAnally, King Henry and Emi Dragoi; Sloan says, “When Was It Over? is about not being able to let go of someone even when you know there’s nothing left. Shane brought the title into the room and Sam and I both loved it. The rest fell into place from there.”

Ran Into You by Mitch Rossell and Trisha Yearwood

Before Mitch Rossell released the duet Ran Into You with Trisha Yearwood, he penned the Garth Brooks’ smash hit Ask Me How I Know, performed with Brooks at the 2017 CMA Awards and opened for him on his 2018 sold-out world tour. Written by Rossell along with Tommy Karlas and Dave Turnbull, Ran Into You is honest, emotional, and impactful. The relatable song expresses how it feels to fear love and heartbreak, but finding your person amongst all the uncertainty.

Rossell tells People, “When we cut Ran into You, I knew there was something special about it. The chorus melody lends itself to a really cool and distinct harmony part and I knew if I could just get Trisha's voice on it, it would take it over the top."

I Can’t by Caitlyn Smith and Old Dominion

Caitlyn Smith has previously penned songs for Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Lady A and Meghan Trainor, but her I Can’t collaboration with recent ACM ‘Group of the Year’ winners Old Dominion is her first single to impact country radio. Through a series of flashbacks, the music video shows the hardship the pandemic had on live music and is in support of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) charity. Formed at the onset of the COVID-19 shutdown, NIVA offers aid and financial support to preserve the national ecosystem of independent venues and promoters.

“While this last year has been hard, it has hit these dreamers the hardest. They were the first ones to close and will be the last ones to re-open,” Smith says about the state of live music venues in the ongoing pandemic. “This video shows a future I hope we never see. It’s why we’re using this moment to support NIVA.”

First Class Man by Imogen Clark and Colin Hay

Following the release of Forget About London, Never This Time and Eat You Alive, Australian singer-songwriter Imogen Clark has released her single First Class Man, recorded with music great, Colin Hay. The fourth track to be lifted from her forthcoming Bastards EP, due for release on May 21, First Class Man is an emotional tribute to Clark’s musical collaborator and mentor, the late Glen Hannah.

Clark says, “In 2019, Glen lost his battle with depression, a battle I had no idea he was waging through the years we knew each other. It really goes to show that you never know what people are going through under the surface, and Glen was a classic example of the phrase “still waters run deep”. He was one of the most humble, talented, kind and generous people I knew, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about Glen and wish I could have done something to help.”
