More Ella & Sienna More Ella & Sienna

Countrytown in partnership with KIX Country is proud to announce singer-songwriter duo, Ella & Sienna as this week’s ‘Centre Stage’ artist. Every fortnight we'll be shining a light on a single artist across all platforms including online features, airplay, and social support.

Hailing from Adelaide Hills, South Australia, the sister duo has been making waves in the country music scene. While juggling typical teen commitments like university, high school, work and sports, they have been working tirelessly in the studio and on stage, perfecting their sound and people are taking notice.

Over the past two years, Ella & Sienna have performed on main stages at Tamworth Country Music Festival, Groundwater Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster, NQ'S Rockin Country, the EKKA, Semaphore Music Festival, and Country by the River. On top of that, they have shared the stage with John Schumann (Redgum), Amy Sheppard (Sheppard), Kristy Cox, Kasey Chambers and Jayne Denham.

With diverse influences from artists including Missy Higgins, Fleetwood Mac and Taylor Swift, the multi-instrumentalist siblings have formed a pop/country/folk sound that is all their own. Ella & Sienna's voices alone command the crowd, and their harmonies weave deeply heartfelt lyrics with such effortlessness that they never fail to leave a lasting impression.

In 2022, Ella & Sienna competed on The Voice Australia. They blind auditioned with a cover of Swift’s cardigan, earning a three-chair turn from Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy and Rita Ora. Abandoning their original choice of Urban, they choose Ora as their coach and were later eliminated during the battle rounds.

That same year, the 2021 CMAA Junior Academy graduates won the Groundwater Kix-Start Competition as well as NQ's Rock'n Country’s 2022 Reboot Competition and dropped their debut EP, Seven Ways To Say You're Fine. The release included the singles Next To Mine, Saved and Next to Mine, which spent 8 weeks in the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart, peaking at #32.

For their current single, It’s Not Me, It’s You, the sisters have embraced their newfound country-pop sound. The upbeat, dynamic song was co-written in early January with legendary Nashville songwriter Phil Barton. Brought to life in studio by renowned Australian music producer Rod McCormack, the anthemic track embodies vocal harmonies that soar over rich layers of overdriven rock influenced guitars, and energetic drums intertwined with banjo and slide.

Sienna said, "Recording with Rod McCormack was an incredible experience. We had a very clear idea of what we wanted the track to sound like, and Rod really brought this vision to life even better than we'd imagined,” adding, “Thank you for bringing our country Avril Lavigne visions to life."
