‘Heart’ by Sami Cooke – Video Premiere

An upbeat, bright, country pop track, Hunter-based artist, Sami Cooke’s new single, Heart, was co-written with fellow country artist, Bryce Sainty, and produced by Michael Carpenter.

Of the sweet, romantic, and cheerful song, Sami says, “Snuggle up with your loved one, live in the moment, let the world slow down around you and sing along.”

The accompanying music video, which premieres today exclusively on Countrytown, was shot and directed by Jeremy Minett of Eyes + Ears Creative in picturesque, Greta, NSW.

“We chose Greta as the location for the video, due to the beautiful view overlooking the Hunter River,” explains Sami. “It was a big day, full of uncertainty due to the weather, but we all decided to meet up at my house at the allocated time, just in case the rain stopped - and it did! The second we pulled back into my driveway, the rain began again. Talk about luck!”

Heart follows a string of singles, including Brand New Strings – a collaboration with fellow country artist and member of powerhouse duo McAlister Kemp, Troy Kemp. 

From playing saxophone in the school band to singing from age 11, she dreamed of being an artist like her idol Delta Goodrem since she was young. She was accepted into the CMAA Academy of Country Music junior course in 2011 and holds a certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing and Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Public Relations and Journalism. 

Following the release of her award-winning debut album Every Passing Minute, she began her career in 2014 by performing over one hundred shows across Australia from February - November. In 2018, she released her follow-up album Crazy Love.

Sami is an Australian singer-songwriter and entertainer, who is actively making a permanent name for herself in the music industry, for her hard work and ambition. Sami performs each weekend across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Central Coast areas, being a favourite for weddings, events, and live performances. She captivates her audience with her approachable personality and natural stage presence. Her vocal ability is beyond her years and her song writing has been well recognised within the industry, winning many prestigious awards.
