More Jazmyn More Jazmyn

Jazmyn is no stranger in music circles having worked behind the scenes as a first class photographer, music video creator and designer working with the likes of Melody Moko, Vixens Of Fall, Catherine Britt and Lee Kernaghan, Hayley Marsten, ‘Murray Wiggle’ and more, under Jazmyn Produces.

February 10 sees her front and centre as a singer with the release of Garden. Co-produced by Jazmyn with Michael and Melody Moko from Moko Productions, Garden is the first single from Jazmyn’s forthcoming EP of the same name, due July 2023.

Garden is Jazmyn’s plea for active manifestation: putting in the work now for all the good you want for your future.

Jazmyn says, “It’s a call to courage, really. It takes guts to claim what you want from life, but it sure is worth navigating all the fears and leaning into the good to see what’s possible on the other side.

Garden is my ethos for life manifested in song form. As much an atheist as I am now, I wanted to build in the warmth of a group sing-along, and capture the feeling I used to adore at church when folks would all sing out together. There’s also a Hey Jude reference in how we structured the outro of the song. I’m a big Beatles fan so it felt fitting to pay homage to them on my first single! I hope folks find hope and optimism and joy in this work”.

“Music became mine because I was a child who had nothing. The radio was always free. Rage on a Saturday morning was always free. I felt connected to a big bright colourful world from suburban traps I time travelled, God touched me through the airwaves, and I let it swallow me whole. I was literally learning my ABC’s from Playschool while simultaneously absorbing the very notions of fashion, art and poetry,” she says.

The accompanying music video, which premieres today exclusively on Countrytown, was shot by Max Van Huesden and directed and edited by Jazmyn. Watch the video below!
