As the four-day Gympie Music Muster approaches, we’re sure that ticketholders and those interested in attending but who haven’t purchased tickets yet want to know more about the event.

That’s where Countrytown comes in. We’ve gathered up everything you need to know, including where to purchase tickets, venue information, how to get to the Gympie Music Muster, reviews, and, of course, the all-important line-up details.

DATES & VENUES

The 2023 Gympie Music Muster takes place from Thursday, 24, Friday, 25, Saturday, 26, and Sunday, 27 August.

This year’s event will be spread across six venues in the northern Queensland city of Amamoor, including the appropriately named Great Northern Muster Club, Bundy Crowbar, Boss Hire Blues Bar, Dodge Tavern, The Grove, and the outdoor Hill Stage. Last year, festival organisers also introduced the Muster Arena and encouraged punters to keep an eye on their social media channels to see the updated version of the arena.

TICKETING INFO

Tickets are selling fast, but they’re not entirely sold out. Limited single-day festival passes are still available, while four-day passes and camping options have some more availability. You can buy your tickets through the Gympie Music Muster website. Ticket prices vary by age and day.

LINE-UP

This year’s Gympie Music Muster hosts over 100 country, rock, blues, folk and Americana artists. Busby Marou, Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham, Kasey Chambers and Travis Collins are listed as the headliners on Thursday. On Friday, fans can witness headliners Casey Barnes, Hoodoo Gurus, Melinda Schneider and The Screaming Jets for a solid combination of country and rock music.

Saturday is led by Adam Brand, Gina Jeffreys, the one and only Morgan Evans, and Troy Cassar-Daley. Lastly, Sunday is propelled by Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley, Midland, Sara Stoner, The Wolfe Brothers and Wolfmother.

Elsewhere on the line-up, The Angels, Hayley Jensen, Ash Grunwald, Emily Wurramara, Catherine Britt, Sammy White, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Melody Moko, Southbound xo and more feature. You can view the entire line-up via an Instagram post from the Gympie Music Muster below.

Earlier this year, Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley were chosen to be this year’s Ambassadors for the Gympie Music Festival.

While they aren’t sure how many Musters they’ve played in total, McClymont credits the festival for starting her career.

“I won the Gympie Muster Talent Search, and that’s where I got signed, so The Gympie Muster is where it kickstarted it for me and the girls (The McClymonts),” she said in a statement. “It’s a pretty special festival in my eyes, and to do a completely full circle, going there to be in the talent search to now being the ambassadors, is amazing. It’s one of our favourite festivals to do because we love the whole atmosphere of the place, it supports local artists, and it’s something music fans need to put on their calendars.”

REVIEWS

After two years of cancellations due to Covid-19 restrictions, the 2022 Gympie Music Muster welcomed 40,000 boot-scooting fans to the Amamoor Creek State Forest.

Writing for the Suger Coat It blog, writer Melissa Walker Horn described the event as “lots of fun” and “the Gympie Music Muster was everything I remembered and more”. You can check out her blog post, which contains an abundance of photos, here.

TRANSPORT

At the time of writing (10 August), here’s what we know. But, as with many significant events, things will likely change in the lead-up. We will update with show-specific transport info when it comes to hand.

According to the Gympie Music Muster website, the easiest way to find the site is by entering the “Amamoor General Store & Post Office, 4 Busby Street, Amamoor, Queensland” on your Maps app on your Apple or Android mobile device. From there, you should see signs pointing you to the Gympie Music Muster site.

Gympie is two hours away from Brisbane by car, an hour and 35 minutes from Hervey Bay, 45 minutes from Noosa and 40 minutes from Tin Can Bay. Public transport options aren’t mentioned on the website – no shuttle bus stops or train station stated – so your best method of transport to the Gympie Music Muster is by car.

CAMPING

Free camping options are included with all Gympie Music Muster tickets, but ticketholders are welcome to upgrade within the grounds. Premium options that are still available include the One And Only Rope Off and the Banjos Tent Motel.
