More Georgia State Line More Georgia State Line

The stage moniker of Australian singer/songwriter Georgia Delves, Georgia State Line’s unique brand of country-infused melancholy yields music that’s equal parts heartsick and hopeful. Every Time is the first single lifted from Georgia State Line’s highly anticipated debut album, In Colour, due later this year. CountryTown is proud to bring you the track as well as its accompanying music video in this exclusive premiere.

Georgia says, “It’s a song about making friends with the consistency of change; acknowledging what isn’t meant for you and celebrating the courage it takes to let it go. It highlights the quiet strength found in choosing to feel joy for what once was, and the power that comes with putting yourself first”.

The visuals were shot in Victoria’s beautiful Wimmera region on Wotjobaluk Country, the atmospheric single capturing the triumph of heartbreak.

Every Time was recorded at James Cecil’s studio, Super Melody World in Macedon, Victoria over 2019. It features some of Australia’s most celebrated Americana musicians: Tom Brooks on electric guitar and pedal steel, Laura Baxter on bass and backing vocals, Patrick Wilson on drums, percussion and piano, and of course, Georgia on lead vocals and acoustic guitar.

Born and raised in the regional Victorian town of Bendigo, Georgia sang in Catholic school choirs by day and cut her teeth on the local pub music scene by night. It was her grandparents who introduced her to the ultimately catalytic American country music of the 1960s and 70s.

Armed with her guitar and a book of lyrics heartfelt and resolute, she moved to Melbourne, formed a band and released an EP called Heaven Knows in 2017. Drawing comparisons with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, title track Heaven Knows captures Georgia’s empathic rumination on the bittersweet balancing act of growing up and staying young.

Georgia State Line has performed at Out On The Weekend, National Folk Festival, Dashville Skyline Festival, and has showcased at Australian Music Week. In a 2018 highlight, the band joined American country-blues artist, Eilen Jewell on a four-date journey across the Australian mainland’s southernmost state, and most recently opened for Justin Townes Earle on his 2019 Australia & New Zealand Tour.
