Drinkin' Songs is heart-breaker from MacKenzie Porter - Song Of The Day

Canadian singer MacKenzie Porter has released her latest single Drinkin' Songs.

It's a heartbreaking song that takes an aching looking back at the songs that fill a relationship and what happens to them after a break up.

"You know when you're dating someone, and you have 'your song'. The one you pick together to be the theme song of your relationship... The one where every lyric seems to be signing about your love... This is about THAT song... after you break up. It's the one that now magically seems to come on the radio every single time you get into the car just to remind you what was once yours. The song that used to make you feel so secure and whole, but now it's just another one of your drinkin' songs." Said MacKenzie.

MacKenzie has made history in her career so far after becoming the only female other than Shania Twain to have three back-to-back singles at Canadian country radio.

This weekend, MacKenzie will appear at the Canadian Country Music Awards where she is nominated for three awards; Female Artist Of The Year, Songwriter of The Year and Fan's Choice.
