The heartbreaking ballad, Damn, I Tried by Brooke Lambert is our Song of the Day!

Originally from Gosford but now calling the Gold Coast home, Brooke wrote the track after a friend told her to write a song about how she was feeling following an unexpected break-up. Through tears and straight up hyperventilating, she penned the track in around 15 minutes and recorded it a week later with Jared Adlam at Machine Lab Recording.

Brooke says, “For 2 years, I truly thought I had it all. Then I was ghosted out of nowhere, with no explanation, and I thought my life was over. In that first 72 hours of darkness, I cried non-stop and it felt like my worst nightmare was on a continuous loop. I kept convincing myself my best friend had died because the person I knew would never do this.”

She adds, “I’m so proud of what I’ve made out of such a shocking situation. Heartbreaks are so painful but the only choice we have is to accept that some things aren’t meant for us, and to move on.”
