Countrified by Will Day - Song of the Day

Our Song of the Day is Countrified by Will Day. The single is energetic, authentic, and dynamic, and tells the story of transforming a city slicker’s life to a country one. Co-written by Skye Day, Countrified is the title track from his highly anticipated forthcoming debut album.

Will says, “I’m extremely excited for the world to hear this song … it’s rockin’, in your face and gritty. It very much correlates to what people can expect in one of my live shows. I feel with the rise of modern country rock over the last decade, there’s a whole lot of folks who have been converted to country music and everything it stands for. This song is all about that and the process of being Countrified.”

Countrified follows his heartfelt ballad, Dear Dad, which hit #1 on the iTunes Country Songs Chart and #7 on the All Genres Song Chart late 2020. However, the Brisbane-based singer-songwriter's breakout year was in 2019, with the release of his single The Real World (co-written with Matt Scullion) which reached #1 on Australian Country Radio. Will then went on to release the summer anthem Here to Party in October, reaching #23 on the official Music Network Country Top 50 Chart.

He will perform at Savannah In The Round in October, alongside Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers and more. This festival will form part of his massive national tour which will reach every state in the country. Over the years he has opened for the likes of Morgan Evans, Shannon Noll, Col Finley, The Viper Creek Band and others, while also appearing at some of Australia’s most iconic country music festivals, including Tamworth Country Music Festival, Groundwater Country Music Festival and Gympie Music Muster.
