Brett Young and Wife Welcome Second Baby Girl

Brett Young and his wife Taylor welcomed their second child, daughter Rowan Marie Young, on Wednesday, July 21. Rowan joins older sister, Presley Elizabeth, who was born in 2019.

The 40-year-old shared the exciting news on social media, sharing a precious picture of his newborn and captioning, “I thought my heart was maxed out. I usually don’t like to be wrong…… I was wrong. And I can’t wait to thank you properly for the opportunity to be your daddy. I already love you so much and I can’t wait to watch you and your sister become best friends.”

He added, “FYI … the women in your life are super heroes and you’re the luckiest lady alive. Presley has been begging for you. Be prepared for me to mess everything up and your mom and sister to always be there to fix it. I love you. Welcome to the ‘Youngs’ – Daddy.”

Born in Nashville, baby Rowan weighed in at 8 lbs., 5 oz. and measured 21 inches long.

In our interview with the singer-songwriter one a week before Rowan’s due date, Young revealed that he and his wife had yet to pick out a name, adding, “this is all we talk about in my house!” He also shared that they still hadn’t decided on a name for Presley six hours after her birth.

Although unclear how and when the couple came to an agreement, Taylor explained that Rowan’s name has special meaning on her side of the family: Her ancestors, the Gaithers, came to Virginia in 1606 and befriended Judge John Rowan, whose last name became a family name in the judge's honour. Marie, meanwhile, is the middle name of Taylor's grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-aunt.

Young first announced the pregnancy in January on social media. In March, during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Not Yet singer revealed that he and Taylor were expecting another girl.

In addition to welcoming his second daughter, Young will also release his first children’s book Love You, Little Lady on August 24. The book, inspired by the lyrics to his gold-certified chart-topped Lady serves as a love letter to his daughter Presley, as he shares what it’s like to hear her heartbeat, hold her for the very first time, and watch her take her first steps.

Young also recently released his EP, Weekends Look A Little Different These Days, which features the singles Lady, You Got Away With It and his latest, Not Yet.
