Ben Ransom returns with the title track from his 2021 album, Brave New World – and we’re so honoured to share the first look at the music video in this exclusive premiere.
With a nod to the 1931 novel by Aldous Huxley and his dystopian vision, the fast and furious track examines the post-apocalyptic uncertainties after something as simple – yet profoundly life changing – as a break up.
Ben says, “It’s essentially a break up song that explores the protagonists’ musings over his perception of what he thought his reality was, but now in fact, is. Given the theme, it’s something that transcends all situations which is probably why it’s so universally appealing. In the end, it’s all about perspective.”
The Matt Fell produced album explores the same themes of life, love, relationships, where we’re going and where we’ve been as in Huxley’s novel, and features the previous singles Night After Night, Coming Down in Spades, Mamma Said and the unadulterated anthemic crowd pleaser, Raise Some Hell.
Born and raised in Sydney, Ben started playing guitar and writing song at the age of fifteen. In 1999, he left Australia to spend time in Europe, cutting his teeth in the heart of London’s West End with a permanent residency in one of the most happening venues at the time. He toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe before returning to Australia.
He released his first album in 2010, The Long Way, with the first single, Bourbon & Sunsets, peaking at #2 on the Hot Country Top 50 chart. Ben was named a finalist in the coveted Toyota Star Maker competition in 2012 and released his second album, Slow Burn the following year. Albums Ben Ransom – LIVE (2015) and 101 (2018) followed.
Ben has travelled, toured, and performed all over the globe with a style that is a blend between country, blues, and pub-rock. Since 2001, he’s opened for Tim McGraw and supported major artists including Diesel, Daryl Braithwaite, Mental as Anything, Ian Moss and Dragon, while also appearing multiple times at festivals including the Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Deni Ute Muster, Country Rocks Sydney and many more.
