CountryTown in partnership with iHeartCountry Australia is proud to announce Niko Moon as our Artist Of The Week, following the release of his new album, Good Time.

At a time when the border between country and pop became narrower than ever, Moon found fame with a savvy blend of country lyrics and tunes that incorporated elements of country, pop, R&B, hip-hop, and reggae, all with a distinct Southern accent.

The Texas-native began his career writing songs for Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts and Morgan Wallen. He is also credited for co-writing five number one Zac Brown Band hits, including Loving You Easy, Homegrown, Beautiful Drug and Keep Me In Mind — plus Heavy Is The Head, which topped the rock charts with Chris Cornell singing lead.

In 2016, Niko joined the electronic dance music group, Sir Rosevelt with Zac Brown and Ben Simonetti, whose self-titled debut album appeared in December 2017. Their track The Bravest was used during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Following the release of his Good Time EP last year, comes Moon's debut album of the same name. Co-produced by Moon with frequent collaborator Joshua Murty, Good Time features 14 tracks that mix country themes, positivity and a high-energy personality with a sunny rhythmic flair. The album features Moon’s breakout hit — the platinum-certified number one, Good Time — as well as his singles, No Sad Songs and Paradise On Me.

Speaking of title track, he says, “Out of all the songs, lyrically, it sums up exactly what I’m trying to say to the world, and the message I’m trying to bring. And it’s the simplest message ever: Life is short! Have a good time. Life is stressful enough as it is. I just wanna help people, if they’re a little stressed out or whatever, be able to come to a show and just for that hour, forget about it for a moment, and have fun with their family and friends.”

He also recently released a remix of the single featuring reggae singer and musician, Shaggy.
