CountryTown in partnership with iHeartCountry Australia is proud to announce Cass Hopetoun as our Artist Of The Week, following her nomination for 'New Talent Of The Year' at this year's Toyota Golden Guitar Awards.

She grew up in the Blue Mountains, and was inspired by female vocalist Delta Goodrem. Idolising her voice and stage persona, Cass began to learn to play the piano and take up regular singing lessons.

Cass shot (pun totally intended!) onto the country music scene in 2020 with her catchy, coming of age debut single Shots, which spent 17 weeks in The Music Network’s Country Hot 50 airplay charts, peaking at #4. She followed that up with Typical Bride, which reached number one.

Her current single Fortune Teller is spooky and sultry, and inspired by a 2019 trip to New Orleans.

Cass says about the single, “I went to a fortune teller, and just knew I had to write about one. I wanted to capture the New Orleans vibe – all those jazzy and mysterious flavours that the streets of the French Quarter have to offer. The song evolved into being about people who they think they know what’s best for you. This is me telling them to mind their own business.”
