CountryTown in partnership with iHeartCountry Australia is proud to announce Carly Pearce as our Artist Of The Week, following her 'Single of the Year', 'Music Event of the Year' and 'Female Artist of the Year' nominations at the 2021 ACM Awards as well as the release of her new EP, 29.

Pearce began her career professionally at age 11, performing regularly with a bluegrass band. At 16, she dropped out of high school to work at the Dollywood theme park as part of the ‘Country Crossroads’ stage show, before moving to Nashville three years later with sights set on pursuing a solo country music career.

After featuring on the track Wasn’t That Drunk by country group, Josh Abbott Band, she released her platinum-certified, debut single Every Little Thing in 2017. The song peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number one the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Every Little Thing featured on her debut studio album of the same name, and debuted at number four shortly after release. Her follow-up, self-titled album came out last year, and featured Closer To You and the platinum-certified, number one single I Hope You’re Happy Now with Lee Brice.

Following a tumultuous 2020, her current EP 29 is a documentation of her baring her soul in a personal, vulnerable and raw seven-track collection of songs. Pearce co-wrote every song on the project, collaborating with writer/producers Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, who helped create her previous single Next Girl, and other writers including Emily Shackelton, Jordan Reynolds, Sarah Buxton, and Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey.

She says, “I feel lighter reflecting on the last year and pouring my soul into this music and wanted to share it in hopes that others will take from the songs what they need. With streaming and social media, we were able to record music for the sole purpose of letting my fans know where my heart is without any expectations. That’s a kind of immediacy that makes making records really exciting.”
