Travis Denning’s clever and satirical breakup song, ABBY – a lyrical anagram for ‘Any Body But You’ – is our Song of the Day! Written by Ashley Gorley, Matt Jenkins, and Chase McGill, ABBY is the third single off his 2020 six-track debut EP, Beer’s Better Cold.

In the light-hearted music video, Travis Denning spoofs the aesthetic of classic 2000s country videos from Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and more. Travis says, “I swear the early 2000s were perfect for country music. They were cheesy, but God they were fun, and they’re so nostalgic now.”

He adds, “This song has always made people smile and laugh, and that’s exactly what the video does. I think not taking myself too seriously and poking a little fun is what the song is about, and we definitely accomplished that in the video.”

Growing up on hair-metal, Travis began pursuing his musical interests after listening to music with his father as a teenager, and released his first independent single in 2012, Ready for Tonight. He began performing at the age of 16 in his hometown of Warner Robins in Georgia, before moving to Nashville at 21, where he quickly established his songwriting cred with cuts by Aldean, Justin Moore, Michael Ray and Chase Rice among others.
